Hello, I’m Eleanor – the founder of Plenty Blue!

Spending time near water isn’t just relaxing — t’s healing. Blue health is the idea that rivers, lakes, and seas can ease stress, boost our mood, and help us feel balanced. For me, being near water has always brought a sense of calm and healing, both for my body and mind.

In 2015, I took up paddle boarding, and it quickly became much more than just a hobby. It offered me a gentle way to explore and strengthened my connection to our beautiful British waterways. As I spent more time on the water, I realised how special these places are—and how much they deserve to be celebrated.

In 2020, I started Plenty Blue to celebrate the river closest to my heart. The first map I created was of the River Crouch — a river full of personal meaning, shaped by my childhood on the Essex coast.

Through my blue maps, I want to inspire you to discover your favourite blue spaces. Whether it’s a river, lake, estuary, or coastline, these places are all around us, waiting to help us recharge and reconnect.

I hope Plenty Blue encourages you to get outside, find your water, and experience the healing power of blue health for yourself.

See you by the water,
Eleanor
